Postby the__mayster » Mon Mar 15, 2010 7:42 pm

Driving home on my typhoon 125 and all the lights stopped working. Everying, horn, indicators, electric start, brake light. Everything!!

I have changed the fuse but made no difference.

Anyone got any other ideas?

When you say "changed the fuse " as there are more fuses .
1-check battery pos/neg leads are tight on battery.
2-check/replece 15A main fuse beside battery .
3-check/replace 7.5A fuses behind access panel on right side of kick panel .
4-If you now have power then you need to find out why the fuses blow .

When you sit on the scoot there is a panel in front of your right knee & next to where the key go's:!:
I believe it has " fuses " printed on it

Thanks, that worked! Strange how they put fuses under a cover marked FUSE.

There was a 7.5. 7.5. 4.5

Was the 4.5 meant to be there?

All i had was car ones so only had 5 and 10.

I put 3 10's in, i havent rode it yet as i thought i would check if thats ok. Should i go out and get three 7.5? Or is it ok to drive on 10's?

Thanks for the help! Saved me loads!

I think it might be the dash lights that did it, they havent been working for a few days.

They are car type fuses  , You should keep to the same amp size as fitting bigger would meen the wiring could go up in smoke :smokin:

Is it all working ok now lights etc :?:
Are all correct fuses in place :?:
Was it the 4.5amp that blew :?: as this is the dash lights fuse
See how it go's and carry spare fuses :boom:

Thinking about it the dash lights did stop working the day before, it does all work now but i have 10amp fuses in there instead so i have not rode it.

Waiting till i can pop to a shop to get the right amp fuses, dont want it breaking!

Strange this one, they blew again, put another fuse in and blew straight away.

Put another one on and drove 25 miles to work and its ok.

Does anyone know what one the middle fuse in the set of 3 is for?

Check the wiring round the headstock, or if the electrics run near where body panels join the frame brackets, may of chaffed or word thru teh wire insulation...
