V-Clic 50 Fuse Blowing when switching on Ignition.

Postby cricketer » Mon Jul 06, 2015 2:04 pm

Hello fellow bikers.

I have a V-CLIC 50 which i have been given to try and get back on the road. Currently when I switch on the ignition the fuse blows straight away. I am rather a novice with electrics, but have managed to track down that the problem seems to be stemming from the black lead on the back of the ignition Barrel. Ifi disconnect the black lead from the connector which is from the ignition barrel the fuse is fine. Is the problem the ignition barrel itself or else where. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do you have a wiring diagram ? is the black wire the main power wire from the switch ? where does it go ? can you get hold of a known switch to swap (watch for imobilser though as they might be linked in)

Hi all new to the forum
I have had similar on a v clic and it was because someone had fitted the wrong type of cdi, turns out there are a couple of types, if you get the wrong one it blows the fuse as a circuit protection
