Re: End of t&g magazine .

When I first got my scooter after a sixteen year vacation (eagles rip off I know, truth is wife threatened to divorce me if I got a motorbike or a german shepherd - still waiting for german shepherd !) this was the only magazine that gave any sort of decent coverage to the auto scooter market, I sto...

Re: what twist & go should I go for?

depends what you want it for, i came back to bikes fifteen years ago after a sixteen year vacation (new wife said its me or the bike, still got the wife and 2 bikes ) tried a cheapo 125 and destroyed it in 18 months, everywhere was flat out. 250 majesty's were comfy and adequate power but kept break...

Re: Hello and curious to know

mmm, Neowing, Hybrid with electric motors, i'm thinking McLaren F1 here and if with all the money in F1 they are getting their arses kicked , not sure if I'd want that image for a trike. Looks like could be very expensive but only time will tell if it makes it to production.

Re: Hello and curious to know

and my point sir henry is, yes its nice to hit 100kph, but its much nicer if your gonna be hitting that on a regular basis to have another 50kph to spare if required. its also much nicer to be running the same bike year after year just because she will.

Re: Hello and curious to know

sir Henry, bigger may not always be better, but having been running twist n go's on a daily 20 mile each way commute I know from personal experience that if you are holding a 125 flat out for about 15 miles of that 20 miles, somethings gonna give. Even 250's dont take kindly to constant 200 miles a ...

Re: Hello and curious to know

trike looks good, i know with 600 you can cruise around at 70 ish and just open her up n off she goes. Whats the trike like ? hows the pick up from cruise speed ? Fancied an mp3 but there are a number of things put me off, running costs, long term reliability of the front end let alone the rest of t...

Re: New Vespa

remember in my dim and distant youth, i'm 60 now, had a series 2 lambretta li 125 and changing gear was liking flying a helicopter with the cyclic stick (I think) turn the bar and at the same time pull the clutch in. Presume manual vespa's are much the same, they also have leading link or is it trai...

Re: Piaggio MP3

if you only have a car licence make sure it has the footbrake, any mp3 without needs bike licence. Not sure about london but even on a cold wet day i prefer my silverwing to my car. Only if the conditions are stupid i.e. gale force wind. ice on the road, prospect of snow, then i'll consider taking t...

Re: Hello and curious to know

looks good, especially compared to the 250 they were selling, that was ugly. Hope you dont run out of power too quick, you know what i mean, 300 is fine at the start, then its could do with just a little bit more, then its i wonder what a 400's like etc. look at me my first bike back was a 125 hyosu...

Re: Honda Dylan 125 starting issue..

ignition switch, get a multi meter and check if there is any power going in and then coming out when you turn the switch on. Did this happen suddenly, one day it worked and then next time you go to switch on, nothing? or was it a case of sometimes you have to switch on 2 or 3 times to get lights etc...

testing times

Following on from last weeks fun and games with the front brake, this morning I took the silver wing for its annual test, thinking new front pads, new rear tyre and rear pas still serviceable, be a walk in the park. How wrong I was, came away with afail list longer than any I've had over 10 years on...

silver wing brakes

Decided to change the front brake pads on my silver wing as the brakes weren't what they used to be, back one still had meat on them as had a look when i changed the rear tyre a couple of weeks ago. That was brilliant only seized bolt was exhaust clamp, angle grinder took care of that. Using 12v ele...
